This month includes blues from Robert Johnson, Taj Mahal, & Memphis Minnie, jazz by the master, Duke Ellington, several forms of rock (Blunt,Walking Wounded,Phil & the Frantics), soul from the King, Sam Cooke, & Godfather James Brown, and other cool sounds (Don Barreto & His Orchestra,McKinney's Cotton Pickers, & one Julius Marx).

Molly Ivins- Farewell

Molly Ivins passed from Earth on Wednesday, January 31st, 2007. She has been described by many words, some of them deemed obscene in polite society. But Miss Molly was a dyed-in-the-wool Independent, for poor people & against the powerful & pompous. She loved Life & Living & Laughter. We'll remember you Ma'am, & try to find the humor you saw in politics, society, & life.

Happy Anniversary to me...

On February 1st, 2002, CJ's Radio Olio began streaming music & other sounds over the Internet. Today, on it's Fifth Birthday, CJ's Radio Olio changes it's name to OlioRadio! OlioRadio will continue playing a dozen decades of recorded music, all genres, all the time. In fact, a whole bunch of tracks new to the playlist, along with some old favorites, are availible for your listening pleasure right now through the ancestral home (lol), Live365.com.
Along with the name change is a new website (olioradio.net), new logo, &, soon to come, new schwag from the station store. What will never change is the ultimate in variety of music, comedy, & spoken word recordings.
I thank all the people who have listened over the past 5 years, & invite everyone to check out the New Olio. Thanks to all the musicians whose work has enriched our lives. A BIG Thank You to the Live365 Staff, for keeping the faith in user-generated content (before all the Web2.0 stuff was a gleam in anyone's eye), and particularly to the Community of Webcasters who use Live365's service: y'all RAWK!!
Here's to many more years of sharing love & music online.
Love and Peace, Clarence
